Accessibility statement

ToucanBid wants every Client and Licensed Pro to be able to post jobs, compare bids and talk to each other, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across the website and installed app.

What we have done

  • Text and controls are checked for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against their background, including the footer.
  • Every page has a “Skip to main content” link, landmark regions and a logical heading order.
  • All controls work with a keyboard, and a visible focus outline shows where you are.
  • Form fields have labels, and icon-only buttons have spoken names for screen readers.
  • Photos and logos have text alternatives; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.
  • Tap targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels on phones, and pages reflow down to 320 pixels wide.
  • Animations are reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • The site is available in English and Spanish (use the language switcher at the top of the page). English is the default; your choice is remembered.

Known limitations

  • The interactive job map is hard to use with a screen reader. The Browse Jobs list shows the same open jobs with search and filters, and is fully keyboard and screen-reader friendly.
  • Photos uploaded by Clients and Licensed Pros may not have descriptions.
  • Links to outside sites, such as state license lookups, are run by those agencies and may not meet the same standard.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on ToucanBid is hard to use, please contact us and tell us the page and what happened. We aim to reply within 5 business days and can help you finish a task another way in the meantime.
